The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has debunked allegations by the opposition that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has abandoned the developmental projects initiated by his late predecessor, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement released on Sunday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accused Governor Aiyedatiwa of deliberately dismantling Akeredolu’s legacy by neglecting ongoing projects in the state.

According to the PDP, “We are deeply concerned about Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s refusal or inability to complete vital projects left behind by his mentor and predecessor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.”

However, Steve Otaloro, the APC’s Director of Media and Publicity, rejected the claim as entirely false. He stated that Governor Aiyedatiwa remains fully committed to completing all inherited projects.

Otaloro remarked, “The PDP’s accusations are nothing more than desperate attempts to stay relevant by spreading baseless misinformation. Since losing the governorship election, the PDP has chosen the path of hostility and falsehood instead of constructive opposition.”

He continued, “Ordinarily, we wouldn’t respond to such unfounded accusations, but we owe the public the truth. The legacy projects initiated by the late Governor Akeredolu are receiving due attention. Governor Aiyedatiwa, who served as deputy under Akeredolu, considers the former administration an integral part of his own political journey.”

“To suggest that he is sabotaging a legacy he helped build is illogical and laughable.”

Otaloro cited several ongoing infrastructure efforts, including the Oda Road project in Akure and its extensions, as evidence of continuity in governance.

He further criticized the PDP for what he described as “a campaign of deliberate misinformation” after its legal attempt to overturn the November 16, 2024, election result was dismissed by the tribunal.

“The PDP’s resort to propaganda only highlights their internal crises and diminishing political influence,” Otaloro stated.

The APC urged the PDP to focus on resolving the disarray within its own ranks—marked by high-profile defections, including sitting governors—instead of misguiding the public with false claims.
