Political Shake-Up: Another Minister Quits Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Cabinet

Sununu stepped down on Monday in order to pursue a Senate seat in Kebbi State.

Before joining the Federal Executive Council, he represented the Yauri/Shanga/Ngaski Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Confirming his resignation in an interview with Vanguard, Sununu stated that his decision to step down was in compliance with Nigeria’s laws governing political office holders seeking elective positions.

When contacted via text message, he confirmed that he had indeed resigned.

Sununu previously served as Minister of State for Education before being reassigned to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. During his time in office, he was noted for implementing social initiatives that positively impacted residents of his state.
