Political Shake-Up: PDP Suspends Samuel Ortom Over Wike Allegiance

This information was revealed in a statement on Monday by the party’s Secretary in Benue State, Joseph Nyam. The PDP claimed that Ortom’s actions led to the failure of congresses in several local government areas, including Buruku, Gboko, Ushongo, Guma, Tarka, Kwande, and Ohimini.

Ortom was suspended along with three other party members: Isaacs Mffo, Azua Ashongo, and Bemgba Iortyom.

Earlier reports from Naija News indicate that the PDP in Benue State is currently facing internal strife following the suspension of State Chairman Sir John Ngbede, State Secretary Joseph Nyam, and State Organizing Secretary Moses Audu by the State Working Committee (SWC). This suspension, announced in a statement by Chief Bemgba Iortyom, the party’s state publicity officer, was due to accusations of impersonation and incitement of disruptions during the recent Ward Congresses.

The statement detailed that the three officials were handed a one-month suspension effective immediately. They are accused of forging documents, impersonating the State Working Committee, inciting violence, and mismanaging party finances. They have been summoned to a disciplinary committee to address these allegations.

Following this, State Deputy Chairman Isaac Mffo will temporarily serve as the State Chairman of the PDP in Benue State. The party has advised both its members and the public to take note of this development.
