Political Storm: Governor Eno Asserts Power After Shocking Defection Twist

Returning from France on Wednesday, Governor Eno was greeted by a massive crowd at the Victor Attah International Airport. Addressing supporters and key stakeholders, he spoke candidly about the political shift that has stirred widespread reactions across the state.

Drawing a vivid metaphor, Eno likened himself to a competent driver guiding the state along a strategic path. He stated that his move to the APC was a calculated decision aimed at securing continued development and ensuring Akwa Ibom’s relevance on the national stage.

“This is about Akwa Ibom,” he said. “I am the one in the driver’s seat today. I hold the steering wheel, and I know the route without traffic or potholes. That’s why I’ve chosen to take Akwa Ibom on a smooth expressway. I see the road ahead clearly.”

The governor dismissed dissenting voices as uninformed and irrelevant, asserting that many of the critics were not even from Akwa Ibom and had no right to interfere in the state’s affairs.

“Please, ignore them,” he urged. “This progressive step is well within my constitutional right. I have chosen to associate freely. When you’re chasing an elephant, you don’t let a barking dog distract you.”

Governor Eno emphasized that his decision was not intended to cause division, but to strategically position Akwa Ibom in alignment with the federal government to promote peace, unity, and development.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, pledging that Akwa Ibom would remain focused on national integration and progress.

“Let’s stay focused. Our eyes are on development, peace, and prosperity. The Holy Spirit found me worthy to lead at this time—and we will not fail,” Eno concluded.
