In a statement issued through his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the governor denied any involvement in imposing candidates in any election, insisting that he has never engaged in such practices and will not do so.

Mutfwang said he is widely known for fairness and a strong commitment to democratic principles, even during his time in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He urged the public to disregard the rumours, stressing that they do not reflect his peaceful disposition or his consistent advocacy for free, fair, and credible elections in Plateau State.

According to the statement, the governor has never imposed any political aspirant against the will of the people and has no intention of doing so in the future.

It further urged party members and the general public to completely ignore what it described as fabricated and misleading reports.

The statement also emphasized that Governor Mutfwang has consistently advised political actors to maintain peace and order throughout the electoral process, noting that peace, unity, and stability remain top priorities of his administration.

The government reiterated that the allegations are false and misleading, reaffirming the governor’s long-standing commitment to credible and transparent electoral practices across Plateau State.
