Political War Erupts As Abiodun Levels Shocking Allegation Against Gbenga Daniel
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has accused Senator Gbenga Daniel of backing negative media attacks against him amid rising tension within the All Progressives Congress in the state.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Abiodun made the allegation on Tuesday during the Ogun East APC stakeholders’ meeting, just days after he was adopted as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 senatorial election.
The accusation comes in the wake of growing friction between both politicians, especially after Daniel was reportedly excluded from an APC caucus meeting in Ijebu-Ode where Abiodun received the endorsement.
Daniel had rejected the decisions taken at the meeting, describing them as invalid, and later proceeded to obtain the APC nomination form to pursue re-election to the Senate.
Speaking at the meeting, Abiodun reflected on his political history with Daniel, saying he had supported the former governor’s rise and contributed significantly to his emergence as senator.
He claimed he played a key role in securing support for Daniel and also facilitated his reintegration into the APC after becoming governor.
According to Abiodun, these were established facts, and he expressed disappointment that Daniel would allegedly respond by sponsoring hostile media attacks against him.
Despite the dispute, the governor thanked party leaders in Ogun East for their support and reaffirmed his commitment to party unity.
He also expressed confidence that Ogun East and the wider state would rally behind Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola’s governorship ambition and deliver strong backing for President Bola Tinubu in the next election.
