Power Struggle? Lagos Speaker Obasa Challenges Tinubu’s Authority In Legal Showdown

Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, has yet to withdraw his lawsuit against the Assembly, despite a recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu and other lawmakers at the State House.

During the court hearing on Monday, Assembly members were taken aback to find that Obasa, who had been reinstated as Speaker, was still pursuing legal action against the institution he leads.

A lawmaker, speaking to Western Post, expressed surprise that Obasa remains adamant in his legal battle despite interventions from President Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, and Aremo Olusegun Osoba.

Reports indicate that Tinubu had urged Lagos lawmakers to cooperate with Obasa while directing the Speaker to withdraw the case against the Assembly and Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda.
