Art has always been an integral part of human existence, transcending time and borders to connect us with our roots, heritage, and collective identity.

In an awe-inspiring event today, Dr. Mrs. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor, the convener of the Loretta Health Initiative and her team visited the prestigious VISITEDO Centre in Benin City. This remarkable center, founded by Mrs. Elizabeth Ehras Hannisdal and Ambassador Uwa Kingsley Imadiyi, stands as a beacon of cultural heritage, showcasing the diverse art forms of Edo State.

The Loretta Health Initiative team of volunteers were captivated by the sophistication of the Edo art displayed at the center. Dr. Mrs. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor, in her extensive speech, emphasized the profound link between art and healthcare, highlighting how art elevates spirits and optimizes mental and psychological well-being.

During her visit, Dr. Mrs. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor also had the opportunity to engage in a delightful game of “Ogie rie ise” with Ambassador Kingsley Imadiyi. This traditional game served as a symbolic reminder of the importance of consistently propagating Edo State’s rich cultural heritage to the world.

Our state of health is all encompassing and Edo State people are advised to visit our cultural nexuses like this one for not just a knowledge of our cultural heritage but also mental health stability and psychological uplifting.
