Moreover, the government refuted claims of a N5.4 trillion provision for subsidy in 2024.

These documents, dubbed “Inflation Reduction and Price Stability (Fiscal Policy Measure etc) Order 2024” and “Accelerated Stabilisation and Advancement Plan (ASAP),” emerged online after a meeting between Finance Minister Wale Edun and President Tinubu.

While one proposal aims to curb inflation and stabilize prices, the other seeks to expedite economic recovery.

In a statement, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, emphasized that these documents are unofficial and subject to review.

Dismissing the documents as unapproved and still in the iterative policymaking process, the government urges the public and media to refrain from further discussions on them.
