He acknowledged Sheikh Argungu’s contributions to Islamic studies and his advocacy for moral rectitude.
Similarly, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, expressed deep sadness over the passing of renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu.
He characterized Sheikh Argungu as a dedicated preacher who used his platform to propagate Islam both within and outside Nigeria.
Abbas praised Sheikh Giro Argungu for his years of Islamic propagation and advocacy for righteousness, emphasizing his role as the Working Committee Chairman of the Islamic group, JIBWIS, in guiding Muslim youths over the years.
President Tinubu expressed his belief that Sheikh Giro would be greatly missed for his fearless advocacy on behalf of the marginalized and for holding leaders accountable in fulfilling their obligations to citizens.
He extended his condolences to Sheikh Argungu’s family, the government and people of Kebbi State, and the Nigerian Muslim community. He offered prayers for the eternal rest of the departed cleric’s soul.
