Wike explained that Tinubu has directed the renovation of the former Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security building to serve as the new headquarters for the Ministry of Livestock Development. However, he did not disclose the cost of the rehabilitation, noting that no contractor has yet been awarded the project.
In related news, Tinubu has acknowledged that a reshuffle of his cabinet is forthcoming. He has urged ministers to actively engage with the media and promote the initiatives of their ministries. During a press conference at the State House in Abuja on Wednesday, Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, expressed concern that many Nigerians remain unaware of the government’s efforts.
Onanuga stated, “The President has expressed his intention to reshuffle his cabinet, and he will do so. While I cannot confirm whether this will happen before October 1st, it is certainly in the works, though no specific timeline has been provided.”
Discussing the administration’s performance, he added, “The President has instructed all ministers to go out and communicate the activities of his administration. Some have been hesitant to engage with the media, but he wants them to overcome that and showcase their work.”
He emphasized, “There is a perception that the government is not doing enough, but in reality, a lot is being accomplished. It is crucial for ministers to promote their efforts and highlight the achievements of their ministries.”
