Acknowledging Governor Odili’s enduring commitment to public service, which is exemplified by his mentorship of emerging leaders nationwide and his remarkable ability to rally diverse groups towards shared goals, the President affirmed that these qualities distinguish him as a prominent leader and statesman.
President Tinubu lauded the former prominent contender for the nation’s highest office for his pioneering contributions in advancing medical education and practice within the country.
This includes his establishment of the PAMO University of Medical Sciences in Rivers State. The President also noted the tribute paid to him by the immediate-past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, who honored Governor Odili by naming a Cancer and Cardiovascular Diagnostics & Treatment Center after him.
“As Governor Odili commemorates this significant day surrounded by his loved ones, including his esteemed wife of nearly 46 years and retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Mary Odili, CFR, the President offered prayers for divine blessings, renewed vitality, and good health for the celebrant. These wishes are intended to empower him to continue serving humanity fervently in the years that lie ahead,” the statement concluded.
