Situated on 547 hectares in Gwagwalada, Abuja, the project aims to eliminate distribution bottlenecks, boost industrialization, and generate $700 to $800 million annually in the first decade of operation.
The plant, operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) in partnership with China Machinery and Engineering Corporation (CMEC) and General Electric (GE), will be fueled by gas from the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) pipeline.
With a three-year timeline for completion, the Gwagwalada power project holds the key to a brighter and more prosperous future for Nigeria, providing stable power supply to homes, businesses, and fostering job opportunities for local communities.
