President Tinubu Strengthens Global Ties with Congratulatory Message To Lebanon’s Joseph Aoun Details

President Bola Tinubu has pledged Nigeria’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties with Lebanon under the new leadership of Joseph Aoun.

President Tinubu emphasized Nigeria’s eagerness to foster a dynamic relationship with Lebanon that will benefit the citizens of both nations.

In a statement on Sunday, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, acting spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representing Minister Maitama Tuggar, highlighted Nigeria’s dedication to collaborating with Lebanon’s new administration to promote global peace and security.

“Nigeria extends its congratulations to Joseph Aoun following his election as President of Lebanon. With 99 votes from Lebanon’s 128-seat parliament, Aoun has emerged as the country’s leader, breaking a prolonged political deadlock since October 2022,” the statement read.

Aoun, born in 1964 on the outskirts of Beirut, is a Maronite Christian and has served as the head of Lebanon’s military institution. His leadership is expected to strengthen Lebanon’s ties with nations like Nigeria, as both countries aim for mutual growth and prosperity.
