In a recent appearance on TVC News Sunday Politics, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, vehemently denied the possibility of a cabal exerting control over President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Addressing concerns raised in the public discourse, Ngelale reassured the public that President Tinubu has deliberately structured his government to prevent any single official or group from wielding undue influence.
Ngelale highlighted Tinubu’s inclusive leadership style, emphasizing that the President maintains open communication with various stakeholders, including heads of intelligence agencies and anti-graft bodies. He dispelled the notion of a potential cabal forming around the President, stating that Tinubu is determined to avoid a repetition of past governance challenges.
Moreover, Ngelale pointed to the appointment of the current Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to prudent resource management. He emphasized the President’s intention to close any loopholes in the system, preventing elite conspiracies that could undermine the government’s integrity.
On the issue of security challenges, especially in the northern region, Ngelale attributed the unrest to sub-regional and geopolitical forces actively working against the country’s stability. He assured that the government is collaborating with international partners, including the United States, to address the security situation and bring those conspiring against the nation’s peace to justice.
Ngelale underscored the administration’s commitment to resolving challenges in the north-central, northwest, and northeast regions, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance security, prevent violence, and combat kidnappings. He emphasized the administration’s “no excuses” policy and its determination to intensify collaboration both regionally and internationally to ensure the nation’s security.
