Public Funds Or Extravagance? Rhodes-Vivour Questions APC’s ₦17 Billion Gate Expense

Reacting to reports that the Lagos State House of Assembly, led by the impeached former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, allegedly spent ₦17 billion on constructing a gate, Rhodes-Vivour expressed outrage over the mismanagement of public funds.
In a post on his X account, the LP candidate argued that the ₦17 billion could have been more effectively used to build a modern school in each local government in Lagos State or to cover the salaries and welfare of all teachers in the state for a year.
He wrote, “How can any responsible representative, who truly understands the needs of their constituents, justify spending ₦17 billion on a gate? This amount could have funded standard schools in every local government in Lagos or paid for teachers’ salaries and welfare for an entire year.”
Rhodes-Vivour condemned the APC’s alleged corruption, describing its leadership as parasitic and unaccountable. He emphasized that the time had come for Lagosians to remove the party from power, stating, “The audacity of corruption within the APC demonstrates their complete disregard for citizens, whom they treat as mere subjects. These parasites must be eradicated from office in Lagos.”
