Raphinha Makes History Of His Own As Barcelona Cruise Past Sevilla 3-1

Raphinha continued his remarkable scoring form by netting a second consecutive hat-trick as Barcelona defeated Sevilla 3-1 at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, strengthening their position at the top of La Liga.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the Brazilian winger followed up his treble in Barcelona’s 7-2 victory over Racing Santander last Wednesday with another impressive individual performance against Sevilla.

The latest three-goal haul takes Raphinha’s tally to 14 goals across all competitions this season, while Barcelona have now recorded seven consecutive league victories and eight wins in all competitions.

Sevilla made a bright start and stunned Barcelona by taking the lead in the 19th minute. Felix Correia delivered a dangerous cross towards the near post, where Youssouf Fofana rose above the Barcelona defence to head the ball past the goalkeeper.

However, Sevilla’s advantage lasted only three minutes before Raphinha restored parity for the visitors. The Barcelona forward cut inside from the left before calmly placing his effort into the bottom corner.

Raphinha completed his hat-trick after the break, with teenage sensation Lamine Yamal playing a key role in both goals.

Yamal’s first assist came in the 52nd minute after he dribbled away from goal before delivering a well-weighted cross towards Raphinha, who headed the ball beyond Sevilla goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos.

Seventeen minutes later, Yamal was involved again, producing an excellent pass that sent Raphinha through on goal. The Brazilian kept his composure and delicately lifted the ball over Vlachodimos to complete his second hat-trick in just five days.

The victory moved Barcelona to 21 points at the top of the La Liga table, giving them a six-point advantage over Real Madrid and third-placed Real Betis, although both teams had a game in hand at the time.

Real Madrid were scheduled to face city rivals Atletico Madrid on Sunday, while Real Betis were set to travel to Deportivo La Coruna.

Despite the defeat, Sevilla remained fifth in the standings with 13 points.
