In a statement issued on Thursday, Fayose dismissed what he called psychological predictions lacking genuine insight, stressing that Oyebanji’s proven performance would outweigh any baseless forecasts ahead of the next governorship election.

“In Ekiti’s political landscape, one thing is certain: Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election is a done deal,” Fayose stated. “His track record and the people’s trust in his leadership speak louder than empty prophecies. The people of Ekiti have already made their choice clear.”

He further maintained that Oyebanji’s leadership style had earned him broad acceptance across party lines, adding that his unwavering commitment to the people would secure him another term.

“In the end, it is Oyebanji’s achievements that will be remembered, not empty predictions,” Fayose emphasized.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed criticized Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike and his loyalists over threats to disrupt the forthcoming PDP National Convention.

The planned convention, scheduled for November 15–16 in Ibadan, has sparked internal disagreements, with some party leaders—under the platform of Eminent Leaders and Concerned Stakeholders of the PDP—calling for fresh congresses in Ebonyi, Anambra, and Ekiti States to resolve lingering disputes.

Former Benue Governor Samuel Ortom, who read the group’s communiqué, stressed that fairness, inclusivity, and adherence to judicial decisions must guide the party ahead of the convention. He warned that ignoring these concerns could render the gathering invalid and disenfranchise genuine party members.
