The arrest of a male student from Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), who allegedly assaulted a male colleague, has sparked widespread discussions on sexual assault.
According to reports from LIB, the 400-level student reportedly overpowered the victim and proceeded to sexually assault him. The Ekiti State Police Command spokesperson, Abutu Sunday, confirmed the arrest on Tuesday. He stated that the suspect has denied the accusations and that investigations are underway.
“We have arrested the suspect, and investigations are ongoing as he denies the allegations made by the complainant. We await the outcome of the investigation,” added the PPRO.
