Patrice Motsepe, the head of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has officially announced that President Bola Tinubu will grace the stadium on Sunday for the highly anticipated final match between Nigeria and the host nation, Côte d’Ivoire.

Speaking at a press conference in Abidjan on Friday, Mr. Motsepe responded to inquiries about Africa’s potential to host the FIFA World Cup again. He asserted, “Nigeria must submit a bid. The Nigerian president (Bola Tinubu) is attending the final on Sunday. I will engage in discussions with him about it.”

Nigeria’s Super Eagles displayed remarkable resilience in their semifinal clash against South Africa, prevailing in a nerve-wracking penalty shootout. This victory propels them into a final showdown with the formidable Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire on Sunday.

Although Mr. Tinubu previously delegated his Vice President, Kashim Shettima, to represent him in the semifinal against South Africa due to his recent return from a trip to France, he will personally attend the final match on Sunday.
