Real Madrid remain optimistic that Vinicius Junior will stay at the club despite mounting speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal.

The Spanish giants are reportedly not considering selling the Brazilian forward this summer and are confident he will commit his future by signing a new long-term contract.

According to Sky Sports News, Vinicius has just one year remaining on his current deal, with fresh negotiations between the club and his representatives expected to take place this week in a bid to reach an agreement.

Arsenal have been monitoring the situation closely due to the uncertainty surrounding the winger’s contract, but there is no indication that the 26-year-old is seeking an exit from the Santiago Bernabéu.

New Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is understood to view Vinicius as a vital part of his plans and wants him to remain one of the team’s key players as he begins his tenure.

Club president Florentino Pérez is also actively involved in the discussions and is determined to ensure the Brazil international remains in Madrid for the long term. The club is equally keen to avoid the possibility of losing one of its biggest stars on a free transfer.

Since joining Real Madrid, Vinicius has developed into one of world football’s elite talents and one of the club’s most marketable figures, making him central to both their sporting ambitions and commercial strategy.

Reports suggest Madrid would even consider keeping the winger through the 2026–27 season if a new agreement is not reached immediately, with Mourinho still eager to have him in his squad regardless of his contract status.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are reportedly closing in on the signing of Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, although sources insist the move has no connection to Vinicius’ future and should not be viewed as a replacement.
