Earlier in the week, Rema, whose real name is Divine Ikubor, participated with Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Edo Arena. The Governor announced that the 6,000-capacity venue will be named “Rema Dome” in recognition of the artist’s contributions and influence.
Governor Obaseki highlighted Rema’s role as a cultural ambassador for Benin and Edo State, stating that the Rema Dome would enhance the region’s tourism appeal and attract international visitors. He emphasized that the new arena would offer a platform for showcasing the state’s rich heritage and create job opportunities for local youth.
On social media, Governor Obaseki expressed his pleasure in having Rema join the groundbreaking event, noting that the Rema Dome, located at the former Garrick Memorial School Ground on Ekenhuan Road, would significantly benefit the community
