The cleric encouraged Nigerians to support the newly appointed ministers under Tinubu’s leadership and believe that they could positively impact the nation.

Reacting to the backlash faced by Kumuyi’s remarks, Omokri took to Twitter to address the matter. He argued that criticizing Kumuyi for expressing his belief in Nigeria’s potential was hypocritical, especially when compared to the support extended to Peter Obi, a former Labour party presidential candidate, for suggesting that the church could play a role in governance.

Omokri emphasized the disparity, stating, “Can his critics tell us precisely what is wrong with what Pastor Kumuyi said here? They had no issue with Peter campaigning from church to church, but they have problems with this? Hypocrisy Is When You Curse Pastor Kumuyi For Believing in Nigeria and Praise Obi For Asking The Church To Take Over Nigeria.”

In light of the mixed reactions, Omokri underscored the need for a fair and consistent evaluation of statements made by public figures, regardless of their affiliations, in order to foster productive discussions about Nigeria’s future.
