Ekiti State Police Apprehend Twins and Two Others for Burglary and Receiving Stolen Goods

Authorities in Ekiti State have detained a pair of twins, Taiwo and Kehinde Olasoji, alongside two additional individuals, Funke Afolayan and Nnaji Aroh, on charges related to burglary and possession of stolen items.

According to Mr. Adeniran Akinwale, the Commissioner of Police for the Ekiti Command, the twins were apprehended on April 25 while attempting to break into a shop located at Mathew Street, Odo-Ado, Ado Ekiti.

In a statement relayed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, the CP disclosed that during interrogation, the suspects admitted to their involvement in the crime. They confessed to burgling three shops at Fayemi Market in Agric Olope, Ado Ekiti, where they made off with two bags of rice, two bags of beans, and other items valued at N936,750.

Further investigations by the Rapid Response Squad of the command led to the arrest of Funke Afolayan and Nnaji Benignus Aroh, who the suspects claimed had been receivers of stolen goods from them.

The commissioner stated that the suspects would face appropriate legal action.

Earlier in March, the commissioner had showcased several suspects, including one involved in a burglary at the Ekiti airport on March 7, where iron rods were stolen.
