Governor Fubara made these remarks during the closing ceremony of the second session of the fifth synod of the Diocese of Evo, held at Saint Philip’s Anglican Church in Oro-Igwe, Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers State.
Addressing the gathering, Anglican Bishop Rt. Reverend Innocent Ordu of Evo Diocese in Rivers State expressed his dissatisfaction with the outcome of the 2023 general election, highlighting the incongruence between the substantial resources allocated to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the resulting election results.
Ordu stated, “One thing is clear, the last election is an affront to Nigerians and does not justify the humongous amount given to INEC to deliver election results that will approximate the true choice of voters in the election.”
During the sermon, Anglican Bishop Rt. Reverend Gabriel Elabor of Esan Diocese in Edo State urged the congregation to emulate the humility, selfless service, and courage demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
He encouraged them to find strength in His name to navigate challenges they encounter in life.
