The announcement was made in a statement on Wednesday, March 26, by the Chief of Staff to the state’s Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, who was granted authority for this decision by President Bola Tinubu.
The suspension affects key officials, including:

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG)

The Chief of Staff

All Honourable Commissioners

Chairpersons and members of boards, councils of agencies, commissions, institutions, and parastatals

All Special Advisers, Special Assistants, and Senior Special Assistants
The suspended officials have been directed to hand over their duties to Permanent Secretaries in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs). In instances where no Permanent Secretary is in place, the most senior Director or Head of Administration will assume responsibility.
This directive takes immediate effect from Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
