Robbers Target Kano Court: Guns And More Stolen, Reports Spokesman

He stated that the judiciary has initiated an investigation to identify the perpetrators and hold them accountable.

Ibrahim detailed that on Thursday, rioters claiming to be #EndBadGovernment protesters breached the high court’s headquarters, vandalizing offices and making off with an undisclosed amount of money and firearms seized from kidnappers and stored as evidence.

“Private and official vehicles parked on the court premises were set on fire or damaged by the protesters,” Ibrahim reported. “Offices, including those of the Chief Judge and other judges, were vandalized, and both new and old case files were destroyed and scattered.”

He added that the court’s exhibit storage, which included guns, was also looted.

This incident marks the first time the Kano State Judiciary has experienced such extensive vandalism. The attack echoes the 2020 #EndSARS protest, when miscreants similarly raided, looted, and set fire to Lagos State’s oldest high court in Igbosere.
