Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo strongly debunked claims that former members have automatic privileges or that prior tenure guarantees success. He described such assertions as fundamentally flawed, highlighting that the current Federal House of Representatives boasts numerous first-time members occupying critical leadership positions based on merit, not tenure.

For instance, Hon. Prince Odi Okojie, a first-timer, serves as Chairman of the Committee on Petroleum Resources (Midstream), showcasing that competence and capability are key criteria for appointments. Similarly, Bello El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, holds the position of Chairman of the Committee on Banking Regulation.
