The Honorable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, on Tuesday hosted a delegation from the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Federal Republic of Nigeria at his office in Abuja. The high-level meeting was led by Mr. Max Petrov, the Trade Commissioner of the Russian Trade Commission in Nigeria, and focused on fostering economic and trade collaboration between the two nations.

The discussions centered on prospective economic partnerships, particularly in the areas of irrigation systems and solar power solutions—key sectors for sustainable regional development in Nigeria. The Russian delegation expressed keen interest in deepening cooperation between Nigerian and Russian regions, emphasizing the mutual benefits of enhanced trade relations.

Mr. Petrov reiterated Russia’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s regional development efforts, stating that the meeting served as a renewed assurance of Russia’s highest consideration for Nigeria’s economic progress. He commended the Honorable Minister and the Ministry of Regional Development for their dedication to fostering international cooperation in infrastructure and energy solutions.

Engr. Momoh welcomed the Russian delegation’s interest in Nigeria’s development initiatives, stressing the importance of global partnerships in advancing sustainable growth.
