Safety Concerns: XEJET Aircraft Skids Off Runway In Lagos....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A mishap occurred on Saturday involving a Xejet Airlines aircraft at Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos. The incident occurred shortly after the aircraft, an E145, landed on Runway 18L, causing it to veer off into the adjacent grass verge near B5 Aircraft.

The aircraft, which had departed from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, was carrying 52 passengers and two crew members. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among the passengers or crew, all of whom were safely evacuated from the aircraft after the incident.

Emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation and ensure the safety of everyone involved. The airport management has launched a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the runway departure.

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has confirmed the incident and deployed investigators to the site for further assessment.

This incident comes just three weeks after another aircraft, operated by Dana Airlines, skidded off the same runway at Lagos airport, prompting the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to suspend the airline’s operations and initiate an investigation.

Xejet Airlines, meanwhile, has temporarily disengaged some of its staff pending the conclusion of the probe.
