Sahara Reporters’ Falsehood Exposed: Senator Okpebholo’s Genuine Voter Registration Confirmed
Sahara Reporters’ Falsehood Exposed: Senator Okpebholo’s Genuine Voter Registration ConfirmedIn response to the recent publication by Sahara Reporters, which falsely claims that Senator Monday Okpebholo, the APC gubernatorial candidate in Edo State, does not possess a valid voter registration card, I wish to categorically debunk this baseless and deceitful narrative. This spurious report is a desperate attempt by the opposition to divert attention from the ongoing voters’ card forgery case involving the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
For clarity, Senator Okpebholo’s voter registration status is verifiable on the official INEC portal. The insinuation that he submitted a forged voter’s card is not only false but also a calculated effort by the PDP to mislead the public and detract from the legal scrutiny their candidate is currently under.
Senator Monday Okpebholo is a devoted grassroots politician who is intimately involved in the communities he represents. He has regularly participated in the political process, voting for candidates in all elections for many years. His unshakable dedication to his constituents and the democratic process is well documented and cannot be tarnished by false claims.
As a serving senator, Senator Okpebholo actively participated in the last general elections, voting in his local ward alongside his supporters. The notion that he would jeopardize his political career by submitting a forged document is not only preposterous but also a testament to the opposition’s desperation.
It is regrettable that Sahara Reporters, a media platform that should uphold journalistic integrity, has allowed itself to be used as a tool for such malicious propaganda. This attempt to smear Senator Okpebholo’s reputation is a clear reflection of the PDP’s desperation to shift focus from their candidate’s legal troubles. The PDP must address the serious allegations against their own candidate instead of engaging in diversionary tactics aimed at misleading the electorate.
Asue Ighodalo is currently facing legal action for allegedly submitting a forged voters’ registration card. This is the real issue that should concern the public. It is unfortunate that instead of focusing on their candidate’s defense, the PDP is resorting to spreading falsehoods about Senator Okpebholo.
We urge the public to disregard this misinformation and recognize it for what it is – a diversionary tactic by a party in disarray. Sahara Reporters should retract their misleading publication and issue an apology for their lack of due diligence.
As the Director of APC New Media Directorate, I reaffirm our commitment to transparent and issue-based politics. Our focus remains on the real issues that matter to the people of Edo State, and we are confident that under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo, Edo State will experience unprecedented growth and development.
