Lukman argued that this disconnect between government priorities and the economic realities faced by many is contributing to the country’s volatile situation. He called on all dedicated democrats in Nigeria to mobilize citizens and channel their frustrations into positive action aimed at reforming democratic structures.

“Every committed democrat must rise to the challenge and help mobilize Nigerians to direct their anger constructively towards the reformation of our democratic institutions,” Lukman stated.

He continued, “President Tinubu’s administration seems to be caught in a cycle of extravagant spending while the nation faces severe hunger and poverty. This misalignment of priorities is partly fueling the current volatility.”

Lukman also urged opposition leaders like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to take the lead in reforming Nigeria’s democracy and establishing a functional political party capable of addressing the country’s challenges. Additionally, he suggested that former APC members such as Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, Mal. Nasir El-Rufai, and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola should collaborate with opposition leaders to help rescue Nigeria.

While acknowledging existing reform initiatives, Lukman emphasized the need to harness the rising public anger to support the emergence of a new political party distinct from the APC, PDP, LP, and NNPP, which he believes are inadequate for addressing the country’s deepening issues of poverty and starvation.
