Bella Shmurda’s cry for justice brings to the forefront the internal rift and alleged maltreatment of Mohbad, formerly under the Marlians music label spearheaded by the embattled singer, Naira Marley. Mohbad’s relationship with the label was fraught with tension, with allegations of bullying by colleagues. Disturbing videos corroborating this have been making rounds on the internet.

The tragic death of Mohbad, which occurred last Wednesday, reportedly at the hands of his childhood friend allegedly sent by the runaway thug Sam Larry, has ignited a firestorm on social media, dominating conversations and trending for days.

In his statements, Bella Shmurda claimed, “For the past few days now, I have been deliberating on what to do, waiting for the authorities of the Nigerian police to at least get one or more people involved in the maltreatment and malicious act towards Mohbad. Since he died, his spirit has not left me, saying a lot of things in my head, pointing hands to people that need to be dealt with in my dreams. I got to Canada just a few days before he died, which is why I went to see him. I told him my plans before leaving, as per my guy as usual.”

Shmurda didn’t stop there, he continued, “I’m here to see my family and also kick start my tour, but I can’t anymore. I’m not mentally in shape for it, and I will be back in a few days. But regardless, Mohbad submitted lots and lots of petitions against these people and the act towards him, complained, shouted. But the Nigerian police are so driven with nepotism and nonchalant attitude toward this matter until this boy is no more.”

In a direct call to Seyi Tinubu, Shmurda stated, “Seyi Tinubu, you’re the face of youth in this country, and I know you’re a man of diligence and integrity. Please activate before we go to the street on this matter. Police stations won’t contain all of us, Ajeh!!”

He further warned the culprits, “Sam Larry and the whole Marlians music must be arrested. If they all ran out of the country, which shows that they’re actually guilty of whatever crime were said to have committed by them, then they’re guilty, and they all know they should never come back and should be banned from entering the country for life.”

Bella Shmurda, leaving no stone unturned, ended with Mohbad’s words, “Imolenization Fun won ni pressure”, echoing the late artist’s call for action.

As it stands, the accused, Sam Larry, is reportedly in Kenya while Naira Marley and his associate, Zino, are in the Netherlands. The unfolding events promise more revelations in the days to come.
