Samuel Chukwueze Suffers Hip Injury, Raises Fresh Fears Ahead Of Milan’s European Clash

Published

AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze has suffered a left hip injury that could keep him out of action for several weeks or potentially months, raising concerns over his availability for the club’s upcoming UEFA Europa League fixture against Bournemouth.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the Nigerian international missed training on Wednesday after reporting pain in his left hip following AC Milan’s recent encounter with Atalanta.

The injury has cast doubt over Chukwueze’s participation in the European fixture, with the club expected to assess his condition before determining the next steps in his recovery.

Reports indicate that the 27-year-old is scheduled to undergo a specialist medical examination to establish the severity of the injury and determine how long he may be unavailable.

Although the full extent of the problem remains unclear, initial assessments suggest that the winger could face an extended period on the sidelines, depending on the outcome of the medical tests.

Chukwueze had made an encouraging start to the season following his return from a loan spell at Fulham. He has recorded two assists in eight appearances across all competitions for the Italian club.

The Nigeria international has featured in seven Serie A matches, starting six of them, and played the full 90 minutes in Milan’s Europa League opening fixture against Benfica.

His possible absence would represent another setback for Milan manager Ruben Amorim, who is already without Belgian winger Alexis Saelemaekers following ankle surgery.

Saelemaekers is reportedly expected to be sidelined for four to five months, leaving Milan with fewer options on the right flank as the team prepares for its upcoming fixtures.

With Chukwueze’s medical assessment still pending, Milan will be hoping the injury is not as serious as initially feared. The results are expected to provide a clearer indication of his recovery timeline and whether he can return to action in the coming weeks.
