Following his inspection of the Red Line Rail project from Agbado to the Ebute Metta Station, the governor issued a stern warning to street traders, emphasizing the government’s absolute intolerance for unauthorized trading along the rail tracks.
He stated, “Our journey began at Agbado station in Ogun State, and from there, we proceeded to Iju Station, Agege Station, and Ikeja Station. We had to skip Mushin Station due to time constraints and logistical reasons.
Our next stop was Yaba Station, and we are currently situated between the NRC’s Ebute Metta Station and our own station, which is just down the road.”
Sanwo-Olu also highlighted various aspects of the project that require attention, including the removal of illegal activities along the rail tracks and the completion of pedestrian bridges.
He expressed satisfaction with the work being carried out by contractors along the Red Line Rail corridor and emphasized the commitment to achieving completion before the end of the year through continuous hard work and rigorous enforcement efforts to prevent trespassing on the rail corridor.
