On March 6, suspected gunmen perpetrated the abduction of Mr. Adegbenjo, a secondary school teacher from Community High School, Alabata, in Oyo State’s Akinyele Local Government Area. The albino educator was taken while walking towards the school during the early hours of the day.
Concerns among residents have heightened, with fears that the kidnapping may be linked to ritual purposes due to the victim’s albinism. There exists a longstanding belief that albinos are perceived as valuable for money attraction, making them susceptible to being used in money rituals.
In response to the alarming incident, teachers at the school are urging swift action from state security agencies to rescue their colleague before any unfortunate consequences befall him.
