Security Forces Apprehend Two Alleged Yoruba Nation Activists Amid Rising Tensions

In the latest development regarding the incursion at the Oyo Government Secretariat, security forces have detained two individuals suspected to be affiliated with the Yoruba Nation movement. The incident, which occurred on Saturday morning, saw a group of masked individuals gaining unauthorized access to the secretariat premises.

Reports indicate that these individuals, believed to be Yoruba Nation agitators, strategically positioned themselves at various points within the secretariat compound. Some were stationed at the gates of the Governor’s office and the House of Assembly, while others were spotted near the main entrance.

Following swift action by security operatives, two suspects were apprehended at the scene. The first, an elderly man with gray hair, and the second, a middle-aged individual whose identity is yet to be confirmed, were found in possession of Yoruba Nation flags and other related paraphernalia.

Witnesses noted that prior to their arrest, the suspects were actively chanting songs in support of the Yoruba Nation cause, while adorned with traditional talismans and charms.

Although access to the detainees for media interviews was restricted by security personnel, reports suggest that the elderly man claimed a leadership role within the Yoruba Nation movement.

Both suspects have been taken into custody for further investigation and questioning by law enforcement authorities.
