In a rapid and effective maneuver, the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army has dismantled a kidnappers’ hideout and captured three suspects involved in abductions in Taraba State.

According to a statement released on Thursday, April 4, 2024, the Army disclosed that the operation, conducted in Kofa Adamu village within Takum Local Government Area, led to the safe liberation of a captive held by the criminal gang.

“Based on reliable intelligence concerning the operations and whereabouts of suspected kidnappers responsible for the abduction of Mr. Hussein Adamu on March 26, 2024, in Kofa Adamu village, demanding a ransom of 2 million Naira, troops from the 93 Battalion/Sub-Sect 3A OPWS swiftly intervened, sealing off the area and successfully rescuing the victim. Additionally, three suspected kidnappers linked to the incident were apprehended during the operation,” the statement outlined.

“The rescued individual is presently receiving medical care at a secure facility, while the detained suspects remain under military custody for interrogation.

“This commendable operation underscores the dedication of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army to combatting crime and ensuring the security of Taraba State’s populace.

“Brigadier General KC Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade/Sector 3 OPWS, lauded the troops for their proactive stance and urged the public to sustain their support for the military by promptly providing credible information on any suspicious activities or movements of criminals within the state.
