The deployment, as announced through a statement released by the Nigeria Police Force on Thursday, is aimed at enhancing safety and security along the expressway. The IGP has instructed the Deputy Inspector General of Operations, Ede Ekpeji, to oversee the meticulous monitoring of security personnel assigned to the area. The strategic positioning of well-equipped operatives is expected to serve as a deterrent to criminal activities in the region.

Emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts, Egbetokun stressed that maintaining the security and well-being of residents and travelers requires a collective approach. The proactive measures implemented include leveraging advanced technology and strategic resources to fortify the overall security infrastructure along the route.

The move comes in the wake of a concerning incident along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, where a reported 85 individuals, including both travelers and residents, were abducted by terrorists near Katari in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Tragically, more than four residents lost their lives in the attack. The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed a bandit attack at Dogon Fili near Katari on the expressway but remained silent on the specific details of the abductions.
