See You In 2037 – Nigerian Woman Living Abroad Makes Bold Declaration About Returning Home

An abroad-based Nigerian woman has sparked reactions online after jokingly declaring that she would not return to Nigeria until 2037 while showcasing what she described as an enjoyable experience abroad.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the woman made the statement in a video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, where she expressed excitement about her surroundings and lifestyle.

In the video, she pointed out that it was already 9 p.m., yet the environment was still brightly lit. She was also seen enjoying an ice lolly as she marvelled at the experience.

The woman jokingly questioned why anyone enjoying such conditions would be eager to return home, before declaring that she had no immediate plans to come back to Nigeria.

“This is 9pm, you can see how bright everywhere is, and I’m also licking ice lolly. Me ke? I’m never going to come back to Nigeria again,” she said.

She further told her followers that she would only return in 2037, adding humorously that she hoped to see them again at that time.

“Someone will be living this kind of life and you expect them to come back? Never. I’ll be back in the year 2037. My people, please, I’m sorry; we’ll meet again in the year 2037,” she added.

The video has generated humorous reactions online, with social media users commenting on her excitement about her surroundings and her decision to jokingly postpone her return to Nigeria for more than a decade.

While her comments appeared to be made in a light-hearted manner, they also reflect the way some Nigerians abroad publicly compare their experiences overseas with life in Nigeria.
