Abdulfatai pointed out that the road serves as a crucial link between the South and the North, but its deteriorating state has led to significant hardship for those traveling it. He emphasized that the poor condition of the road has resulted in frequent incidents where travelers are left stranded.

In response, Senate President Godswill Akpabio instructed the Committee on Works to prepare a report for plenary within three weeks. Abdulfatai further noted that despite the Federal Government’s initiation of major repairs over the past decade, the road continues to be in a deplorable condition, leading to regular accidents and daily traffic congestion caused by heavy vehicles.
