During a meeting with executives and members of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) at her office in the State House, Abuja, Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, urged the country’s youth to align themselves with government programs and vision. She emphasized that such alignment would enable them to fully capitalize on the numerous opportunities available.

Mrs. Tinubu stressed the importance of promoting unity over ethnic or cultural divisions. She emphasized the need for Nigerians to prioritize their national identity and unity, while still acknowledging and celebrating their diverse cultural heritage.

Furthermore, she highlighted the significance of having role models to guide the youth in navigating various aspects of life. Drawing from biblical references in Titus 2 and 1 Timothy, she emphasized the importance of intergenerational mentorship and learning.

Addressing the role of technology, Mrs. Tinubu acknowledged its benefits but also emphasized the importance of using it responsibly and positively. She urged the youth to harness technology for constructive purposes.

Additionally, Mrs. Tinubu shared insights into the programs run by her office through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI). Notable among these initiatives are the Unity Fabric Competition, offering a prize of N25 million, and the Every Home A Garden Competition, with a prize money of N20 million. These initiatives aim to foster unity, creativity, and community development among Nigerians.
