Senator Adeola’s media adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro, released a statement revealing that Mr. Sanni was stopped at a checkpoint in the Berger Area of Lagos while on his way home to Isheri. After a while, Mr. Sanni’s wife became anxious when he could no longer be reached on the phone. She contacted his associates, leading to a search party being mobilized.
Passersby later contacted her through the Next of Kin phone number on her husband’s driver’s license, informing her that Mr. Sanni’s body was found dumped near Toyota Bus Stop in Oshodi with a gunshot wound.
Senator Adeola, who is currently involved in the ongoing ministerial screening at the Senate, expressed shock and devastation upon hearing the news.
He revealed that Mr. Sanni had been his close aide for over two decades. The Nigeria Police Force is investigating the killing.
Efforts are underway to confirm the tragic incident with the Lagos State Police Command, through its spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin.
