A communiqué issued by Innocent Bola-Audu and Gamaliel Acho, the national secretary, and released in Abuja on Sunday, confirmed that the NDC reviewed and endorsed the National Industrial Court’s judgment from July 9, 2024. This judgment, delivered by Justice O. O. Oyewunmi in case No. NIC/ABJ/214/2022, affirmed Bola-Audu’s position as the legitimate national president of ASCSN.

The NDC declared the election process as free and fair, reflecting strong participation from delegates across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The conference also condemned attempts by certain former and current members to undermine the association and obstruct ongoing police investigations into financial misconduct and other crimes.

The communiqué praised the Nigeria Police and the Inspector General of Police for their efforts in investigating and prosecuting those involved in embezzling the association’s funds. The NDC pledged full support to law enforcement and called on the Inspector General of Police to direct the Commissioner of Police in the FCT to unseal the Abuja annex of the ASCSN National Secretariat, which had been closed, violating the Police Act and court rulings.

Additionally, the NDC confirmed Gamaliel Chinyere Acho’s appointment as the new Secretary General, a decision previously made by the Central Working Committee (CWC) and ratified by the National Executive Council (NEC). The newly elected officers include Vice Presidents Hassan Abba, Tari Dounana, Andrew Magaji, and Odunayo Adesoye; National Treasurer Rahab Maigari; Internal Auditor Nkiru Aneke; National Trustee Jonathan Aligbe; and National Ex-Officios Gold Dybo, Isaac Lingmu, Christopher Lengbedion, Adebayo Oluwa, and Orisamuyiwa Abidakun.
