Speaking in Ikare Akoko during a campaign event, Makinde declared that both Ganduje and Aiyedatiwa would be surprised by the election results. Makinde remarked, “On November 16, the people will show Ganduje that Ondo State—and the South West—belongs to the PDP.” He dismissed Aiyedatiwa’s assertion about the PDP’s demise, stating, “Talk is cheap.
