Sh*ck Move! Ex-President Jonathan’s Trusted Aide Dumps PDP, Joins APC

A former Senior Special Assistant on Domestic Matters and Social Events to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Waripamo-Owei Dudafa, has formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dudafa, who previously served as a Commissioner in Bayelsa State and was once the youngest member of the State House of Assembly, announced his defection in a statement issued to journalists in Yenagoa on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

In his resignation letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Southern Opokuma/Ayibabiri Ward 8, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, Dudafa said his decision followed “deep reflection and wide consultations” with his family, political associates, and supporters.

“It is with a heavy heart that I tender my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately,” he wrote.

Explaining his reasons, Dudafa cited prolonged internal crises within the PDP, particularly at the national level, as a major factor that influenced his exit.

“The persistent and unresolved disputes have hindered our collective progress and created a climate of division that no longer aligns with my values and the aspirations of our people,” he noted.

While acknowledging his past service and loyalty to the PDP, Dudafa emphasized that his commitment to public service remains steadfast.

“Though this decision was not easy, my dedication to the welfare and progress of our people remains unchanged,” he added.

Declaring his new political allegiance, Dudafa said he joined the APC, which he described as a platform of “renewed hope and unity.”

“After careful reflection, I have decided to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC), a platform I believe offers renewed opportunity and a stronger foundation to address the challenges facing our state and nation. I look forward to working with like-minded individuals to achieve this vision,” he stated.
