In a separate interview with media personality VJ Adams, Sabinus revealed that his father was initially opposed to his career in comedy. His father had hoped he would become a lawyer, but after failing to gain admission to law school, Sabinus pursued Linguistics and Communication Studies.

It was during his time at the University of Port Harcourt that Sabinus discovered his talent for comedy and began creating skits. According to him, his father initially regretted funding his education and dismissed comedy as a “stupid business.”
