Sh*ck Twist: Court Slaps EFCC With Form 48 — Boss Could Face Jail Time
The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a Form 48 notice to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and its Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, for failing to obey a court judgment directing the immediate return of 27 properties previously seized as alleged proceeds of crime.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The notice, which serves as a formal warning on the consequences of disobeying a valid court order, was issued on Tuesday by the court’s Registrar and addressed to the EFCC Chairman.
It states that the anti-graft agency has yet to comply with the order dated October 31, 2025, mandating the release of the affected property documents to their rightful owners.
Part of the notice reads:
“Take notice that unless you obey the direction contained in the order of the Federal High Court, made on October 31, 2025… you will be guilty of contempt of court.
This court has been informed that as of today, December 2, 2025, you have refused to release the property documents to the owners/respondents.”
It further warned that failure to comply immediately would expose the EFCC leadership to penalties for contempt.
The dispute dates back to March 13 when the court granted the EFCC an interim forfeiture order over the assets. However, in her final ruling on October 31, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik vacated the forfeiture, holding that the commission failed to prove that the properties were acquired through illegal means.
