Sh*ck Twist: PDP May Draft Peter Obi To Lead Jonathan’s 2027 Campaign

Reports suggest that top figures and influential stakeholders within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are ramping up efforts to bring back former President Goodluck Jonathan and ex-Anambra State Governor Peter Obi into the fold.

According to insiders who spoke with The Whistler, discussions are centered around forging a Jonathan–Obi alliance, where one would emerge as the PDP presidential candidate and the other would spearhead campaign efforts in either the South-East or South-South.

“For example, should Jonathan clinch the ticket, Obi would lead his campaign in the South-East. Conversely, if Obi becomes the flagbearer, Jonathan would take charge in the South-South,” the source explained.

The insider added that uniting both political heavyweights is crucial to the PDP’s revival and survival beyond 2027, stressing that the opposition party risks weakening its chances if Jonathan and Obi end up on rival platforms.

Former Jigawa State Governor and PDP stalwart, Alhaji Sule Lamido, confirmed to the BBC that he has been actively involved in the reconciliation efforts to reunite Jonathan, Obi, and other estranged members with the party.
