Sh*cking Advice From Annie Idibia: ‘Women Should Elevate Themselves Above Men In Relationships’ Amid 2Baba Divorce Rumors
Nigerian journalist Kikelomo Atanda-Owo has emphasized the importance of women achieving self-reliance in relationships, commenting on the ongoing divorce drama between Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Baba, and his wife, Annie Idibia.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on her show Real Talk With Kike, Atanda-Owo delved into the complexities of love, sacrifice, and self-worth, urging women to prioritize self-love rather than conforming to societal pressures. She criticized Annie’s decision to stay in the marriage despite numerous red flags, empathizing with her commitment to love but stressing that women must focus on their own emotional and mental well-being.
Atanda-Owo remarked, “The foundation of their relationship sets the tone for the future. Annie stood by 2Baba through his rise to fame, even after he had children with other women and continued to see his baby mama. Love isn’t wrong, but women should start prioritizing themselves over men in relationships. What Annie tolerated, most men could never endure if the roles were reversed. Imagine a man even touching your wife lightly—many marriages would end immediately.”
She also praised 2Baba for his maturity in handling the marriage crisis without airing their issues on social media. “We don’t know the full story, but one thing I commend him for is keeping his composure and not rushing to social media. This shows maturity, despite his role in the challenges they face,” she said.
Atanda-Owo expressed concern about the toxic culture of online judgment, noting how social media quickly turned the couple’s pain into public entertainment. “Social media has turned their struggles into a circus, with people casting blame and making cruel judgments. Why not hear from the people involved before fueling the frenzy?” she added.
She concluded by emphasizing the lessons to be learned from the situation, stating, “We must teach the next generation that self-love and self-development come first. Marriage doesn’t define you as a woman or man. 2Baba and Annie aren’t the first, nor will they be the last, to face divorce. Sometimes, it’s the start of new beginnings—what truly matters is growth, healing, and finding peace.”
